Creating the Planning Sample application in EPMA 11.1.2

In order to recreate the Classic Planning Application in EPMA we have to follow these steps:

1. Create Blank Application
Go to Application Library and then to File->New->Application

and then select Create Blank Application

2. Dimension Library
When you go to the Dimension Library you will see your blank application. Now we have to import the ads file with the structure of the sample application, which you can found in: C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Planning\bin\sampleapp
Go to File->Import->Create Profile

For Import Type select Flat File, for Application, the one that you have given to your blank application and then the FileName is:

C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Planning\bin\sampleapp\SampApp Source Flat File.ads

Click Ok and File Properties will appear:

In here select what you see in the image above.

Click Next and Map Dimensions will appear

Select the options as in the picture and create new dimensions. Click Next

In the next window tick Select All and click Next.

A pop-up window will ask you if you want to execute the profile now, click Yes.

Go to Jobs to see the results.

3. Deploy Application

Now go back to Dimension Library, click Refresh and you will see the new dimensions added. Now the only thing left is that in the properties of the application select:

Default Currency: USD
Starting Month: Jan

Then you will have to order the performance settings and activate all associations.

Go back to Application Library and you are ready to deploy the application.
